With experience of safeguarding work in over 45 countries and following a distinguished social work career spanning many decades, (including as former Global Director for Child Safeguarding at Save the Children U.K. and Save the Children International), Richard established SafeForChildren in 2017.

This is a busy freelance, international safeguarding consultancy providing the insights, guidance and technical knowledge needed by local and global organisations to meet their safeguarding commitments.

He is a senior associate at GCPS, approved consultant, trainer and investigator with CHSA and BOND. His clients have included government, academic, UN, INGO and NGO bodies.  

Richard works to safeguard vulnerable groups within the international development and humanitarian sectors through providing Safeguarding Training, Investigations, Investigation Management and Review, Leadership Development, Crisis Support, Mentoring and Policy Development.

He is a trustee and Board member for two charities and sits on two academic advisory panels. His working languages are Welsh and English.
