Nankyer Boki Sule is a dedicated humanitarian and development professional with vast experience in safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), child protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and community engagement locally in Nigeria and internationally supporting the Ukraine response. As a safeguarding specialist, Nankyer has supported diverse international and national organisations to develop a safeguarding policy and support its implementation in line with safeguarding international standards. She has worked with organisations to promote positive safeguarding culture where safeguarding values are modelled thereby creating a safe environment.
Her GBV, child protection and case management experience has exposed her to work in the most difficult environments with limited access, where she provides direct case management services to unaccompanied and separated children and survivors of GBV in host communities and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps. As part of the GBV and child protection services, she has established women’s and child-friendly spaces and provided psychosocial support services.
She applies her knowledge and expertise in PSEAH, child and adult safeguarding and systems strengthening to support organisations thus contributing to the quality implementation of programmes and services for the affected population. The range of services she provides include policy development, safeguarding internal and external assessments, safe organisational culture, development of safeguarding tools, survivor-centred case handling and referrals, development of community-based reporting mechanisms, safe programming and systems and procedures for safeguarding implementation.
