I have a long-standing experience in humanitarian emergency work having worked for many years for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Somalia, Central Bosnia, Rwanda Afghanistan and Sudan. I joined the Building Safer Organisation project, aiming to build capacity amongst INGOs and NGOs to investigate allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse of beneficiaries by humanitarian workers in 2005. Once the project moved to the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), I have been closely involved in the full integration of BSO as a core part of HAPs framework. I have been supporting members in establishing their accountability frameworks and revising/implementing policies, designing and conducting learning programs on accountability, complaints handling, conflict resolution and creating a trusting environment to minimize conflicts, with a special focus upon investigating complaints of sexual exploitation and abuse, protection from SEA and accountability, develop and strengthen country and regional networks to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse.
I am working as an independent consultant since 2012, mostly on safeguarding topics and investigations, in South-America, Africa, Europe and Asia. Currently all projects are managed remotely.
I am an active member of the IASC/PSEA task force and part of the Technical Expert Group on sexual exploitation and abuse.
I speak English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
