cover page showing children looking into the camera

This guidance has been developed by Save the Children to support staff in designing and implementing Save the Children projects, advocacy and campaigns. The guidelines can be used as a stand-alone document or in conjunction with Save the Children’s Safe Programming training modules. The document sets out guidance on how to implement child safe programming in Save the Children and within the context of Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy. For the purposes of these guidelines, “programming” refers to programmes and projects, as well as to events and activities, which contribute to policy, advocacy and campaigns, delivered directly by Save the Children or with and through partners. The guidelines are useful for other organisations who are considering what might be necessary to strengthen safeguards in their programming and projects.

Review pages 16-18 for an overview of risk assessment process as part of the safe programming process.
